ROLE PURPOSE/ SUMMARY
Family Therapy works with families in difficulty, particularly young
children, and adolescents. Family Therapy considers the distress of
the individual in the context of relationships within family and
society. The therapy addresses patterns of interaction, meaning and
behaviour within a wide system and the client is facilitated in
changing patterns and roles within the system.?The Family Therapist
will work with individuals and families who have been referred by
Tusla (The Child and Family Agency) covering the Sligo area.
The Counsellor must be familiar with and ensure that the service
adheres to the National Guidance for the Protection & Welfare of
Children, and with the Child Protection Procedures of Sligo Social
Services.
Responsible for own personal and professional development and must
participate in appropriate training activities as required, and
maintain accredited membership of a recognised professional
organisation
CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS:
A recognised qualification at Level 7 or higher qualification on the
NQAI framework in a relevant Health & Social Care Profession (e.g.
Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language
Therapy) or registered or eligible to be registered as a Nurse with An
Bord Altranais
AND
Applicants must have successfully undertaken and completed a
specialist training in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice spanning,
not less than four years and incorporating not less than **Apply on
